Mesha(Medam/Aries) -For Those born in Mesha raasi, 2012 will be a year of mixed results. With Saturn, Jupiter, Rahu - all in unfavorable positions, the year will start on a low note. It is advised that people born in Mesha raasi don't take any risk in the first half of 2012. They may see delayed financial returns, disagreement with family members and travel to distant land/places are also indicated. Horoscope Matching

After a long time, I am back at writing my astrology blog. Today, I am going to focus on the aspect of Horoscope matching. Most of the Indian's heard about it and might have gone to an astrologer to see the " Points on a horoscope matching table" to see whether their and their prospective spouse's horoscopes are in agreement. Once the Pandit says it is more than 25, they will say, yay..I found the perfect soul-mate. Even though most of the marriages have greater than the required points, not all of the marriages are between soul mates.

So is Vedic astrology true or not? This made me do my own research on horoscope matching. After going through 100s(if not thousands) of horoscopes, I came across a few key similarities in the horoscopes of couples, who looks to be happily married (one could debate that, but for now I am going to conclude that they are happy). First of all, the "Kuta" or points system is solely based on the position of Moon in a horoscope. There are 8 more planets considered in Vedic Astrology and deciding the match between two people solely on the position of Moon did not sound right to me. On detailed analysis of various horoscopes, I came to the following conclusion.

To be a perfect match, complementary planets should be in mutually compatible positions in couples horoscopes. For eg: Sun indicates King or the main male planet and Moon indicates Queen or main female planet. I found horoscopes where Husband's Sun and Wife's Moon are in compatible positions, there exists a harmony and respect in their relationship. In the horoscopes where these were in unfavorable positions, there existed a lack of harmony or a " dharmic" relationship between the couples. The ideal position was the one where the Husband's Sun and the Wife's Moon are in the same zodiac sign. The next best was the one, where the Sun and Moon are in the 7th from each other. The most unfavorable ones are where, these are either situated in the signs of inimical planets and/or in 6/8 position from each other. A strong Sun indicates more manly qualities in a person and a strong moon indicates womanly qualities in a person. Based on my study, the best compatible sun-moon positions are given below.

Jeff's Horoscope

Given here is the horoscope of Jeff. This a pretty stron horoscope with Mer in 9th, Ven in 10th and Jupiter in the 11th. Also one can notice the interchange of houses between 9th and 10th lords. Currently the person is running Mer- Rahu.

Couple of analysis would be interesting

3. Education

4. Career.

Horoscope of Jennifer

I have uploded here is one horoscope that I came across. Let us do some analysis.

For any horoscope, the first thing to note is the stength of Lagna or Ascendant (the first house) and its lord as the strength of first house determines how much one is able to accomplish in this life.

Here, lagna is scorpio, occuppied by tenth lord sun. Though sun is a malefic, it is friend of Lagna lord Mars and Lagna is also aspected by Lagna lord from the 6th. Sun is also in Vargottam(same sign in both rashi and navamsa). Navamsa lagna is capricon and is occuppied by venus and aspected by Jupiter. So overall the lagna is moderately strong. The presence of Sun and aspect of Mars gives the person, a lot of courage, leadership qualities, strong and healthy body. Sun in the lagna is not that good for eyesight as sun rules eyes as well. So the person might have spectacles early in life. Scoprio lagna makes people do more harm to themselves than by others. The person will be fiery nature due to the presence of sun and the aspect of Mars to Lagna. The presence of Sun aspected by Mars could make the person suffer from Head aches. He loves hilly areas and he likes being the leader within the group. On the negative side this can also increase the ego and a strong independent nature. In relationships, they tend to be the controlling person.

We will talk more about the education and marriage of this person later.

Interesting observations -

Based on my experience, I found that there exist a strong attraction when the man's mars and women's venus are in the same sun sign or oppsite signs. Do your own research and see whether my observation is correct.

The Beginning

I clearly remember that day. It was in 1982. An astrologer of great reputation came to our house to do a 'Deva Prsna' - An astrological methodology to find answers to questions related to Temples. As a boy of 12 years old, I was not impressed by this old man. However, in the next 5 hours, he made a lasting impression in my mind about Vedic Astrology and its infinite possibilities. That's how I came into the field of Vedic Astrology. It is a great tool to help people to channel their life in line with the cosmic forces so as to reap the maximum benefit in their life.

Here in these pages, I plan to bring unique horoscopes for discussion and analysis from a Vedic astrological standpoint. All the opinions and analysis are welcome. In this process, we will teach and learn and will understand a little more about the vast ocean of this existence.
